Package 4

Request to Change or End Restraining Order After Hearing (ROAH)

Coming Fall 2025

This package is for individuals who are subject to an active Domestic Violence Restraining Order (DVRO) — also called a Restraining Order After Hearing (ROAH) — and want to ask the court to change or end that order.

Whether you are the protected party or the restrained party, this package walks you through completing form DV-300 (Request to Change or End Restraining Order) and any necessary attachments. Common requests include modifying child custody or visitation terms, changing stay-away or no-contact orders, or asking the court to terminate the DVRO entirely based on changed circumstances.

This package helps you explain your reasoning clearly, avoid common mistakes, and get organized before your court hearing.

What You Receive:

  • Step-by-step digital interviews: complete your CA judicial council forms (just like popular DIY tax-preparation software)

  • Court forms and documents generated with your answers to straightforward questions

  • Filing and service instructions so you can navigate your next steps after completing your paperwork

Package 4 is designed for:

U Do It Legal does not currently offer court filing or service of process services.

However, under California law, parties seeking a Domestic Violence Restraining Order (DVRO) are not required to pay court filing fees, and the sheriff’s office will serve DVRO paperwork for free. This is a legal protection in place to ensure that survivors of abuse are not burdened with costs when seeking protection through the courts.

Legal solutions made easy.

  • Unlike a court self-help center or law firm, U Do It Legal does not have the triage capacity to sit down with each of our potential customers in a virtual or in-person consultation to determine their eligibility for our services.

That said, it is our ethical responsibility as a legal service provider to determine prospective clients’ general eligibility for the services they intend to purchase, before they make the purchase.

This is why we designed our web app so that users must first take a short (less than 1-minute) ‘Eligibility Quiz.’ Once you have cleared the initial eligibility check, our software assesses a few of your case's circumstances to ensure you're then routed to the UDIL package that best fits your legal needs.
